Evening reception staff were poor, we found it very difficult to have calls answered. The food at dinner was disappointing. I do not believe it was entirely worth the money. We paid extra for a river view that basically had a view of a tree. We were upgraded to a suite , which was super, nice touch of luxury with great attention to detail. Very comfortable bed. Very old doors, carpet need to be changed, overall it worth 4 stars not 5. Stayed in a king suite. View from the room was fantastic and the absolutely stunning at night. The room was spacious and comfortable with very nicely appointed furniture and bed.

The bathroom with the heated floor was very nice surprise. Doorman was wonderfully welcoming, the bellboys were quick and helpful and the concierge was professional and always pleasant and patient. I asked for an early check in which wasn't possible and I understood this. However, when I returned at the regular check in time, the receptionist without checking with anyone, insisted the room still wasn't ready.

Had to ask for the manager, who after checking with housekeeping, found the room was ready. Receptionist was not happy at being contradicted and was less than pleasant for the rest of the check-in process. Not offered breakfast discount on check-in so would have paid substantially more if I hadn't found out about the discount by accident. Stayed two nights.

Mini-fridge was not restocked the second day. Took 45 minutes to get a bucket of ice and then felt guilty for asking for it when we found out the poor guy doing room service was the only one on duty. Seems like the hotel needs to amp up the staff numbers to provide the five star service you're paying for.

I was downgraded from a deluxe room to a standard room essentially. The following day the y transferred me to a deluxe room and despite two request to make sure there were no feathers in the room The staff were helpful and friendly, hotel was well kept. Had excellent food from their restaurant, Location was Amazing. Loved the heated bathroom floor and towel rack. The View in the room was not the best. Crane and workmen right outside our room. Marble on the floor needed repairs. When travelers want to visit London, they will see some of the greatest buildings, towers, and bridges.

Very nice. I have just returned from having 2 nights at this hotel with my husband and 4 yr old son. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were really clean and had everything we needed and the complimentary drink and snacks are a lovely idea. The location is fantastic. The only let down is the restaurant where the food in the evening is unfortunately not great but luckily the breakfast is really good. We would definitely stay here again! Read more. An immaculate heritage building with up-to-date technology, all bedrooms have Egyptian cotton bed linen and a inch satellite plasma TV. The luxurious bathrooms also all have underfloor heating too. This is a large hotel with bedrooms, including signature suites, many with magnificent views over the Thames. Plus, the secluded outdoor terrace is a hidden gem — perfect for summer alfresco dining or evening cocktails. And you could work it all off in the private gym on the eighth floor. The Royal Horseguards is considered a family-friendly hotel so I wanted to put this to the test.

I went to stay for a night with my nine-year-old daughter during a school holiday so we could also try the Royal Horseguards Mini Afternoon Tea.
